How to Order

Step 1 - Select Style

• Welding Screen  - Complete with all the hardware needed to set-up immediately. Screens are partially assembled for easy installation.
• Welding Curtain - Curtain only to be used with existing structure. Supplied with heavy-duty hanging hooks that fit up to 1 1/2" O.D. pipe. Add. 10% to width to allow for proper draping.

Step 2 - Select Material and Color

• Duck - For total glare reduction. Resistant to fire, water and mildew.
• All Solid Vinyl Colors - For total glare reduction
• Transparent Green Vinyl - Offers best protection with visibility
• Transparent Yellow Vinyl - Offers best visibility
• Transparent Orange Vinyl - Offers better visibility
• Transparent Blue Vinyl - Offers good visibility

Step 3 - Ordering

• Sellstrom will review each order to ensure all materials are included for immediate set-up.
• Select the Item Number for the size of the curtain followed by the Color/Material Code. Example: 6' H x 8" W Transparent Orange Curtain in 14 mil would be designated as : 97311-1.

Custom Orders

Sellstrom supplies all necessary materials to design and build your own protective welding environment. Available in top grade heavy duty vinyl or duck that absorbs dangerous ultraviolet radiation from high amperage welding arcs while allowing excellent observation of activities. Sets up in minutes and comes complete with hardware.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

The heavy-duty vinyl used in Sellstrom curtains & screens is composed of a top grade vinyl film processed with a color dye, flame retardant chemical and ultraviolet absorber. The dye absorbs and filters more of the blue light glare associated with welding arc. The surface of the material acts as a reflector causing the arc to appear larger and less bright reducing the glare to the eyes. Light is scattered in several directions while creating fluorescent light. This causes the eye pupil to constrict and shut outthe excess glare, thus reducing light to the retina portion of the eye. Laboratory test results show that all materials perform the best in the dangerous far ultraviolet (flash burn) area. In the near ultraviolet area, minimal transmission occurs. While the green offers the greatest  protection, the orange, yellow and blue have similar qualities while allowing better visual observation.
